Coming Soon!Alkesh Gajjar, MD, DFAPA, FASAM is dual board-certified in Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine and is also certified by the International Society of Addiction Medicine (ISAM). He completed his psychiatry residency at East Tennessee State University.
Clinically, Dr. Gajjar provides comprehensive psychiatric care and management of co-occurring disorders at the MUSC Health Jean and Hugh K. Leatherman Behavioral Care Pavilion in Florence, South Carolina, a psychiatric hospital serving patients aged 12yrs and older. In addition, he provides outpatient psychiatric care across the lifespan through the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities at Tri-County. He is actively involved in the Highway to Hope Mobile Response Clinic, which delivers mental health care to underserved and rural communities.
Dr. Gajjar serves as an an Associate Professor in Psychiatry and Neuro-Behavioral Sciences at Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine, Assistant Professor at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine He is also a faculty member at the Medical University of South Carolina mentoring Internal Medicine residents. His longstanding passion for medical education is reflected in his role as a preceptor and mentor, a commitment he has upheld since 2016. He also serves in ASAM DEI Award committee as well an active member of the AAAP.
Outside of his clinical and academic work, Dr. Gajjar enjoys photography, spending time with his family, and engaging in ongoing professional development to advance the field of psychiatry and addiction medicine.
